WUFT-TV, WUFT-FM launch online fundraising auction

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida’s public broadcasting stations WUFT-TV/FM will launch an online auction “WUFT Support & Save” at www.wuft.org beginning Thursday.

The online site will feature gift certificates from local merchants including restaurants, spas, salons, entertainment venues and more. Many items can also be purchased at a “buy now” price. The initial launch of the auction will feature artwork from various local and regional artists. Art pieces include oil paintings, signed prints, hand carved wooden bowls, handmade leather bags and jewelry.

The art auction will begin at 6 a.m. Thursday and conclude at midnight Dec. 10. All proceeds will benefit WUFT-TV and WUFT-FM. To donate items for the auction contact Brenda Woods at bwoods@wuft.org.

The UF College of Journalism and Communications Division of Multimedia Properties encompasses public television station Florida’s 5, WUFT-TV/DT, with three digital streams, and digital television station WRUF-TV6; two commercial radio stations, Country 103.7 The Gator and ESPN 850; and two public radio stations, Florida’s 89.1, WUFT-FM and WJUF-FM 90.1, both with three HD streams.

The stations serve listeners and viewers throughout North Florida and the Nature Coast. The stations also serve as a training facility for students of all disciplines in the college.
