October 8, 2012

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida Information Technology Awards are open to anyone meeting the eligibility requirements, regardless of academic or administrative department.

A team is defined as staff who worked on an IT project (the project team may have both IT and non-IT staff), IT staff working together to resolve a technical issue or improve an administrative or business process, or a group, unit, or department that exemplifies the following characteristics:

• collaboration, innovation, and leadership;
• exceptional customer service;
• outstanding work behind the scenes.

Winning organizations represented last year included the Career Resource Center, Research Computing, and the project group that managed the university’s content management system transition to Sakai.

Committee representatives from the Academic Health Center, IFAS and campus administrative units review the nominations and forward award recommendations to Chief Information Officer Elias Eldayrie.

Nominations for the 2012 UFIT Awards will be accepted through Oct. 15.

Staffers are encouraged to nominate worthy project teams and IT units for this opportunity to be recognized at the Fall IT Assembly on Nov. 6.

Questions about the nomination process should be emailed to Anne Allen, UFIT Awards Committee chair at alallen@ufl.edu.
