UFPA introduces phone-buying option for student tickets

September 28, 2012

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida students can now purchase tickets to University of Florida Performing Arts shows by phone.

“UF students lead very busy lives,” director Michael Blachly said. “We believe that the option to purchase tickets by phone will make it easier for them to seize the opportunity to see world-class live performances at deeply discounted prices.”

For most UFPA-presented events, student tickets are available for $10 or $15 and may be purchased in person at the Phillips Center Box Office or University Box Office (located in the Reitz Student Union), or by calling 352-392-2787 or 800-905-2787. Each student may only pick up one ticket per performance with a valid Gator1 card.

Student tickets for UFPA’s November and December shows go on sale at noon Monday, Oct. 1 and are $10 for all shows excluding “West Side Story,” which is $15. Student tickets for September and October shows are already on sale.

Shows included during this ticket-buying period are The Warsaw Philharmonic (Nov. 4); political comedy troupe The Capitol Steps (Nov. 5); Emmy-winning Spanish guitar sensation Benise with his International Dance Troupe (Nov. 7); and the Broadway classic “West Side Story” (Nov. 27 and 28).

Student tickets are limited, subject to availability and supported in part by University of Florida Student Government.
