Students urged to apply for Homecoming, Growl staff

September 4, 2012

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Staff applications for the University of Florida’s Homecoming and Gator Growl are now available at www.gatorgrowl.org or in the Florida Blue Key office, Room 364 in the Reitz Student Union.

All students are encouraged to apply. Applications are due Sept. 14 in the Florida Blue Key office.

Homecoming this year will feature an American theme, “United We Growl” in celebration of Veterans day weekend. The weekend of Homecoming will be Nov. 9, but Homecoming events start in October.

Homecoming is celebrating its 89th year and has evolved into a multi-event celebration of events to entertain and invigorate UF students of the University of Florida, as well as the larger Gainesville community.

Gator Growl is the largest student-run pep rally in the nation and is the culmination of Homecoming Week. With famous entertainers, student skits, the Fighting Gators Marching Band, a farewell to the football team’s seniors and a fireworks display, Gator Growl has entertained generations of Gators.
