Student Government Finance relaunches and updates Docutraq system

July 12, 2012

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida Student Government Finance has released its long-awaited Docutraq online activity request system upgrade on Monday, allowing students to apply for Student Government funds for the 2012-13 fiscal year.

Docutraq, which allows students to fill out student activity requisitions or SARs, has launched with three new key features: dashboard, instant fund screening and enhanced budget summaries.

“This new Docutraq system will revolutionize the way Student Organizations manage and spend their budget during a fiscal year,” said Student Body Treasurer Juan Rodriguez.

Rodriguez said that the new system is truly user-friendly and believes that it increases both transparency and communication between Student Government Finance and its students.

According to the Docutraq home page, Dashboard allows student organization officers to easily access information about their organizations and allows them to review their budget summary in a simple fashion.

Instant fund screening is a feature that allows officers to instantly see if they have enough money for their fund request before it is submitted to their student organization president.

This feature will help prevent frustration for student organization officers and allow SG Finance employees to have a more streamlined approach to filing SARs.

Enhanced budget summaries are provided to review detailed information about an organization’s budget throughout the 2012-13 fiscal year easily, according to the system’s home page.

“This marks a new era for Student Government Finance and changes the way organizations interact with us so I am very excited to see students using it and enjoying it,” said Rodriguez.
