Parking areas set aside for convention attendees this weekend

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Several parking areas on the University of Florida campus will be affected this weekend as the Jehovah’s Witnesses convene in the O’Connell Center.

They include:

Today
- The O’Connell Center parking garage (Garage 7) levels 2-3 and upper ramp will be reserved for convention attendees. In addition, approximately half the O’Connell Center West lot will be reserved for convention use.

- The O’Connell Center main parking lot and garage first floor, large commuter lot on Gale Lemerand Drive, law school east/west commuter lots, and Fraternity Row lot will be available for convention attendees and university students, faculty and staff on a first-come first-served basis.

Saturday and Sunday
- The entire O’Connell Center north lot and garage will be available for convention attendees and university students, faculty and staff on a first-come first-served basis.

- The large commuter lot on Gale Lemerand Drive, law school east/west commuter lots, Fraternity Row lot, engineering complex lot and the UF Bookstore and Welcome Center Garage will be available to convention attendees and university students, faculty and staff on a first-come first-served basis.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention will attract approximately 7,500 attendees for each of the three days and will have a direct economic impact to the local community of $2.2 million.
