Winners of Edible Book Contest announced

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The George A. Smathers Libraries announce the winners of the Edible Book Contest, which was held recently in conjunction with a celebration of National Library Week.

Winners were chosen for four categories out of 40 entries by a panel of judges. The best overall winner was “Green Eggs and Ham” by Angela Bojarski and was chosen by popular vote. Winners of the categories are as follows:

Best pun – “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Pie” by Deborah McEdward
Best nonfiction – “Into the Wild” by Jakayla Henderson
Best children’s book – “Winnie the Pooh” by Ashley Garcell
Best noncake – “Edible E-book” by David Schwieder
