UF department of pediatrics celebrates 30 years of science

What:
The College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pediatric Science Days, an event that showcases the scientific discoveries of leading researchers within the department. All of the department’s former chairmen will be on hand to celebrate the milestone event and honor the contributions of UF pediatrics researchers with new chairman Scott Rivkees, M.D. The two-day event will feature a research poster presentation and 20 scientific presentations on topics ranging from the use of gene therapy in Pompe disease and hemophilia to research findings in diabetes and epilepsy. A reception will be held in honor of the 30th anniversary.

Where:
The Founders Gallery, located at the University of Florida Health Science Center between the Medical Science Building and Academic Research Building, 1600 SW Archer Road, Gainesville, FL.

4:15 p.m., Thursday, March 8 (30th anniversary reception)

Notes:
A research poster presentation will be held from noon-1 p.m. in the Founders Gallery, and research presentations will be held between 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. in room C1-9 in the Communicore Building.
