Shanghai Chamber ensemble performs Tuesday at UF

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Represented by a 20-piece chamber ensemble, the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra will share its extensive repertoire at the Phillips Center for Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Student tickets are $12.

The Chamber Ensemble of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra is the first large-scale modern orchestra in China and performs stringed and wind instrumental pieces, Cantonese music and plucked-string and percussion instrumental ensembles.

The orchestra has received numerous awards for its compositions and has performed in more than 80 cities in China and 30 countries throughout the world.
