GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Members of Project HEAL, an interdisciplinary team of University of Florida health care students and professionals, invites the Gainesville community to participate in the 5K for HEALing fundraising event Jan. 15.

The race will begin 8:30 a.m. at the Southwest Recreation Center parking lot. Registration is $15 until Jan. 11 and $20 afterward. The first 200 registrants will receive free T-shirts.

All proceeds go toward the purchase of medical supplies the UF team will use to care for patients in Ecuador.

HEAL stands for health, education and learning, which represent the philosophy of the team’s mission to provide acute and preventative care and public health education to Ecuadorian citizens.
