UF play this weekend examines today’s youth

December 1, 2011

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Players presents “This is Our Youth” Friday through Sunday in the Nadine McGuire Black Box at the University of Florida’s Nadine McGuire Theater and Dance Pavilion.

As the title suggests, the play is a stunning snapshot of youth culture lost in modern society. It provides an excellent opportunity for the UF community to witness individuals their own age broach challenging topics and themes that youth culture faces every day.

The play is directed by Andrew Bailes, a third-year MFA acting student at UF, and the entire production will be done by students.

Performance times are 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free, but the advance online registration for tickets has ended. However, potential patrons can come to the theater 30 minutes before showtime and get added to a waiting list. They are more than likely to be able to get a ticket because some people with reservations don’t show up.
