UF alumna to be featured on final episode of Bravo show Dec. 21

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida alumna Kymia Nawabi is featured on the current season of Bravo’s “Work of Art: The Next Great Artist.”

After graduating with a master’s of fine arts degree in drawing and painting in 2006, Nawabi moved to New York City to pursue art and has earned several prestigious residencies and awards for her work. She also has a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University. Nawabi’s work can be seen at http://kymianawabi.com/home.html.

Bravo’s “Work of Art: The Next Great Artist” is a creative competition series that follows the artistic process of 14 up-and-coming artists. These artists, under the watch of art world elites, compete for the grand prize of a solo show at the Brooklyn Museum and $100,000 cash.

The second season premiered on Oct. 12. With each episode, contestants are asked to create original artwork. At the end of episode nine, Nawabi advanced as one of three artists to be featured on the final episode of the season, to air Dec. 21.
