Exhibitions, demonstrations highlight annual Art Bash

October 20, 2011

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Art Bash, the annual celebration of art at the University of Florida, will take place Oct. 28.

This open-house event at the College of Fine Arts’ School of Art and Art History showcases the breadth of art disciplines pursued at UF. Art Bash provides the campus and the Gainesville community the opportunity to view an array of projects by UF art students ranging from intimate drawings and vibrant graphic designs to bold ceramics sculptures and experimental photographs.

In 2010, more than 600 people attended Art Bash and participated in its demonstrations, exhibitions and interactive projects in painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, art education, art history, digital media, graphic design, drawing and more.

Events, demonstrations and art displays will be ongoing between 6 and 9 p.m. in School of Art and Art History classrooms, critique areas and hallways in a casual fashion throughout the College of Fine Arts Complex, located on Southwest 13th Street between Little Hall and Broward Dining.

This free event encourages discussion between students and the community as well as introduces potential students to the school’s facilities and many programs.
