U.S. Constitution to be read on campus Sept. 12

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The U.S. Constitution will be read aloud from noon to 1:30 Monday under the canopy at the Plaza of the Americas outside Library West.

University of Florida Libraries is seeking help from students and others with the second annual “America Reads the Constitution” event. Enthusiastic readers are needed to read several sentences or a paragraph.

Others are asked to stop by and listen to a few minutes of this historic text. There will be free pocket copies of the Constitution plus cake and lemonade.

A group of fourth- and fifth-grade students will begin by singing the preamble from the “Schoolhouse Rock” music video. For more information, please contact chelseaz@ufl.edu.
