UF students, faculty and staff can learn more about RecSports offerings Aug. 25

August 16, 2011

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Living In Motion will take center stage at the University of Florida’s Southwest Recreation Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 25 as students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the RecSports Extravaganza.

This event provides an opportunity to learn about the programs and services offered by UF’s department of recreational sports. Complimentary massages, giveaways, free food, fitness demonstrations, Sport Clubs expositions and competitions will be available.

The 39 Sport Clubs will be in attendance, allowing students to meet the members and to learn each club’s practice schedule and more specific information. The clubs are student-run organizations for those who have a passion for or want to learn a new sport. They emphasize leadership, skill development, team-building and socializing while competing against other universities. Different clubs range from cuong nhu to surfing to tennis. Personal trainers will be providing fitness information. Participants may also try a new workout with the RecSports small group training coaches. The intramural sports staff will provide participants with sporting games and competitions where participants will be entered into a drawing for an intramural sports champion T-shirt.
