New Titletown Gator Club offers summer program of discounts, events

June 20, 2011

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The new Titletown Gator Club has teamed up with the University of Florida Alumni Association and University of Florida Media Properties to design a members-only “100 Days of Summer” program, with the aim of providing exclusive events and discounts on the best stuff to do, see, eat and buy during the slower summer months in Gainesville.

“The Gainesville Gator Club is a club for anyone who loves the Gators, wants to connect with other Gators, watch a game together or network,” said Bill Strawn, club president. “Although there are Gator clubs all over Florida and the nation, this is the first official alumni club in Gainesville, and we couldn’t be more excited to launch it with our ‘100 Days of Summer’ program.”

Alumni and friends of the University of Florida can become a founding member of the newly formed Titletown Gator Club by purchasing a $40 annual single membership, or $50 for joint membership, and enjoy unbeatable deals to dine, shop and experience a variety of popular local businesses this summer.

The list of participating “100 Days of Summer” businesses is growing rapidly, as new participants are added daily. A few examples of participating businesses include Gator Domino’s, Gator’s Dockside, Haile Plantation Golf & Country Club, The Great Frame Up, Vello’s Brick Street Grill and the Florida Museum of Natural History. The campaign is committed to providing an unforgettable summer in the swamp, while providing an increase of traffic to local businesses. The “100 Days of Summer” program began May 26 and will go through Sept. 2, culminating in a special Gator gathering event that will be locally hosted by the Titletown Gator Club and feature head football Coach Will Muschamp.

By joining the club, residents will also become UF Alumni Association members and enjoy the traditional exclusive year-round deals including eligibility to play at the UF Golf Course, free admission to the Orange & Blue Spring Football Game and a subscription to the award-winning UF Today magazine, to name a few. The Titletown Gator Club gives graduates, former students and friends of the University of Florida living in the university community an opportunity to strengthen the bonds between each other and The Gator Nation. The club serves the community through educational and philanthropic initiatives. It mobilizes its members to support the goals and objectives of the University of Florida and
Alumni Association. As a result, its members’ lives are enriched by fostering a spirit of loyalty, unity and cooperation.
