Healthy Horses Conference

WHAT: The Healthy Horses Conference is an educational day with a focus on successful equine health. It will be held at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine’s Large Animal Hospital. The event will include lectures, lunch and live equine demonstrations, including horses on a high-speed treadmill and receiving pregnancy ultrasound examinations. This year’s topics will include poisonous plants for horses, lameness evaluation, colic, hoof care, non-sweaters, supplements and emerging infectious diseases, to name a few.

Presenters will include the board-certified faculty from UF’s Large Animal Hospital and tours of the UF Large Animal Hospital will be provided. Registration is currently closed for the event, but media are welcome.

WHEN: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9.

WHERE: The Conference will take place at UF’s Large Animal Hospital, located at 2015 SW 16th Ave., Gainesville, FL. Watch for signs.
