GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida’s Zipcar Program recently exceeded 1,000 members.

Students, staff and faculty are invited to join this car-sharing program to enjoy access to vehicles at multiple locations on campus available whenever they need them.

Students 18 and older and UF employees may sign up for individual memberships at a discounted rate at www.zipcar.com/ufl and start driving immediately.

Zipcar may be used by the hour or by the day. Advantages include:

  • $35 in free driving in your first month.
  • 180 free miles with each reservation, plus gas and insurance at no additional cost.
  • A quick and easy online reservation process.
  • Clean, contemporary, well maintained vehicles, most less than a year old.
  • A guaranteed campus parking space reserved 24/7 for each Zipcar.
  • Car sharing helps reduce traffic, road congestion, the consumption of fossil fuel and the carbon footprint.
