Country 103.7 – The Gator is a 100,000-watt contemporary country station operated by UF’s College of Journalism and Communications serving the Gainesville-Ocala Radio Market.

“We are excited to engage our community to help choose the new Country 103.7 – The Gator logo,” said Randy Wright, UF’s executive director of multimedia properties. “After all, the station is theirs; we want our listeners to decide. They know what ‘The Gator’ is all about. We look forward to their votes.”

The station will give all participants a chance to win two tickets to see Reba McEntire, George Strait and Lee Ann Womack at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Jan. 28.

On Oct. 15, the University of Florida switched its commercial FM station, WRUF 103.7 FM, to a country-music format. Under its new name, “Country 103.7 – The Gator,” the station now broadcasts country music to attract a broader audience and help ensure the economic viability of the UF media properties for decades to come.
