October 4, 2010

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The spotlight is on faculty and staff as the University of Florida is again accepting nominees for the 22nd annual Superior Accomplishment Awards.

Each spring, the Superior Accomplishment Awards highlight the achievements of academic personnel as well as TEAMS and USPS employees from the previous academic year. The 2011 awards will be a consideration of work done from Aug. 1, 2009, to July 31, 2010. Nominations for the 2011 Superior Accomplishment Awards will be accepted through Oct. 29.

The six-category award program recognizes faculty and staff who have contributed outstanding service in their fields and to the university. The awards are given at the division and university levels, honoring employees who have helped maintain efficiency, economy and the quality of life provided to students and employees.

Division-level winners will each receive $200, a certificate of appreciation and a university memento. Each division winner is then eligible to be selected for one of six university-level awards of $2,000 or one of eight $1,000 awards sponsored by The Gabor Agency and Willis HRH Inc. In addition, each university-level winner and his or her guest will be invited to attend a football game in the President’s Box next season.
