Students, alumni can submit videos for new Gator Growl contest

September 9, 2010

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida students and alumni have the opportunity to have a “Growl Minute of Fame” during this fall’s Gator Growl homecoming pep rally Oct. 15.

Students and alumni have until Oct. 1 to submit videos up to a minute in length that might be used on the big screen during this year’s Growl. Contestants can upload the video to YouTube and then copy the link into the submission box at www.gatorgrowl.org/minuteoffame.

After Oct. 1, the Gator Growl staff will select the top three videos in both the student and alumni categories. The videos will be placed on the Gator Growl website for voting. The winning videos from both categories will be shown during the show, and a text-to-vote system will allow The Gator Nation to decide on the winner.

The winning age group (student vs. alumni) will be awarded a trophy that will be passed down to the winner at each year’s show. For more information visit www.gatorgrowl.org.

The Gator Growl staff is also looking for the most enthusiastic Gator fans in The Gator Nation. From now until Sept. 15, fans can submit images of themselves dressed in Gator attire at any UF sporting event to be featured on the cover of the 2010 Gator Growl Program. Please submit your pictures at www.gatorgrowl.org
