College chooses first director of revenue for multimedia properties

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Sandy Wagner, an experienced media sales professional, has been named the new director of revenue for the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Division of Multimedia Properties.

Wagner has extensive experience in the Gainesville/Ocala market in broadcast sales, management and planning. She joins the division after serving as the long-time station manager of the FOX network affiliate station in Ocala.

As director of revenue, Wagner will guide the advertising and underwriting activities for the public and commercial properties. A graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, Wagner gained valuable experience in all facets of station operations and developed short- and long-term strategies to achieve profitability and positive community presence. She also garnered nonprofit fundraising experience with the American Cancer Society in St. Louis, Mo.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that someone of Sandy’s expertise will be joining the Gator family,” said Randy Wright, executive director of the Division of Multimedia Properties for the College of Journalism and Communications. “Her background generating revenue and building relationships in the community will serve our division, UF and the market well.”

The UF College of Journalism and Communications Division of Multimedia Properties encompasses two commercial radio stations, WRUF-FM ROCK 104, WRUF-AM 850; two public radio stations WUFT-FM 89.1 and WJUF-FM 90.1 (both with three HD streams); public television station WUFT-TV (with three digital streams) and digital television station WLUF-TV. The stations serve listeners and viewers throughout North Florida and the Nature Coast. The stations also serve as a training facility for students of all disciplines in the college.
