Man robbed early Monday near Norman Hall

May 31, 2010

A man was robbed early Monday by three unknown suspects in the Norman Hall/Southwest 13th Street area on the University of Florida campus.

The male victim was walking through the 13th Street pedestrian tunnel at approximately 3 a.m. when he observed three males also in the tunnel. As the victim was leaving the tunnel area, he was struck in the back of the head and fell to the ground. The suspect(s) then took his possessions and left the area without any further contact with the victim. During the incident, no weapons were observed and the victim did not sustain any further injuries beyond being struck in the head. After the incident, the victim left the area and notified law enforcement of the incident at approximately 8 a.m.

The victim could only recall that the suspects appeared to be white males wearing dark clothes. No other description was provided.

While the University of Florida Police Department will be increasing patrols in this area, we would like to remind all university community members to remain vigilant at all times, and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.

If anyone has any information about this crime, they are encouraged to contact the University of Florida Police Department at 392-1111.
