Your online vote could help bring ultra-high-speed broadband to Gainesville

March 4, 2010

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — You can help assure Gainesville’s selection as a trial community for Google’s ultra-high speed broadband network – a network that would increase speed of the average user’s Internet access more than 100 times – with one gigabit per second connections.

Google will choose a few communities throughout the nation to participate in this project. The City of Gainesville has been joined by representatives from University of Florida, Santa Fe College, the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and others, to create the winning application package for this project.
