OAR chosen as Gator Growl's musical entertainment

September 2, 2009

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The band “Of a Revolution” (O.A.R.) has been selected as the 2009 musical act for Gator Growl on October 16 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

OAR has been around since 1996, and is widely popular among all age groups. The band is in a classical rock/pop rock genre, and their songs are generally considered appropriate for the entire family. Some of their more popular songs include “Crazy Game of Poker,” “Hey Girl” and “Shattered.” The band has been touring nationwide, and recent engagements include a sold-out Madison Square Garden performance, a number of widely successful charity concerts and a live performance for Fox’s coverage of New Year’s Eve 2009 in Times Square.

Joining OAR this year will be Dana Carvey, comedian.

Since Gator Growl is historically a senior celebration, this year’s program will include honoring the greatest senior class in college football history.
