Journalist Judy Woodruff to give special presentation on Dec. 9

Gainesville, Fla. — Public television station WUFT-TV is celebrating 50 years of broadcasting to 16 counties in North Central Florida (21 via cable). To honor the milestone, Judy Woodruff, senior correspondent and political editor of The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS, will give a special presentation at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. “An Evening with Judy Woodruff” will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Woodruff has covered politics and other news for more than three decades at CNN, NBC and PBS. Her experience as a broadcast journalist ranges from serving as a White House correspondent for NBC News, to a long stint as an anchor and senior correspondent for Inside Politics on CNN, as well as serving as executive editor of Generation Next: Speak Up, Be Heard, a documentary produced by MacNeil/Lehrer Productions and aired on PBS.

Woodruff will share stories of her experiences, and give us a behind-the-scenes look at major news events and newsmakers. She also will provide analysis of the recent U.S. presidential election.
