International Educator of the Year Award nominations being accepted

October 3, 2008

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Department chairs are asked to recommend faculty members for the International Educator of the Year Award. The award recognizes outstanding international endeavors by UF faculty members. Colleges are asked to make a nomination for two awards – one for junior, untenured or newly tenured, faculty and one for senior faculty. Each college is asked to nominate one candidate for each of the two awards, with the exception of IFAS, CLAS and Medicine, which may nominate two for both awards because of the size of those colleges. Nominations are due by Oct. 31.

The nomination should consist of a memo, no more than three pages, describing the international accomplishments of the faculty member. Contact information and a summary paragraph should be at the beginning of each nomination. Nominations should be sent by email to lfrazier@ufl.edu and directed to:

UF International Center
Interim Dean Lynn Frazier
170 Hub P.O. Box 113225

Awards will be presented by Provost Joe Glover at a reception at 3 p.m. on Nov. 21 in the Keene Faculty Center as part of International Education Week, taking place Nov. 17 through 21. The winner of each award will receive $3,000. For more information, please visit http://www.ufic.ufl.edu/uficiew.htm.
