Presidential candidate Bob Barr to speak at UF on Sept. 23

Bob Barr, the 2008 Libertarian candidate for president, will speak at 7 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the Reitz Student Union Amphitheater. The event will include introductions by Karl Dickey, chair of the Libertarian Party of Florida. This event is free and open to the public.

Barr represented the 7th District of Georgia in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003, serving as a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, as Vice-Chairman of the Government Reform Committee and as a member of the Committee on Financial Services. According to his Web site, he now practices law with the Law Offices of Edwin Marger and runs a consulting firm, Liberty Strategies LLC, headquartered in Atlanta and with offices in the Washington, D.C. area.
