UF’s ‘Green Team’ encourages sustainability across campus

July 7, 2008

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida Office of Sustainability has developed a program called the Green Team. This new organization will create a network of volunteers in each college and unit at UF, and it will provide guidance and share the best practices for the implementation of sustainability initiatives within departments and across campus.

Green Team members will act as representatives from their individual UF departments to coordinate strategies for campus-wide reduction of resource use, in an effort to find sustainable solutions to UF’s consuming habits. Members will lead by example and implement sustainable practices in the work place and on campus.

A list of participating departments is available at UF’s Green Team Web site,http://www.sustainable.ufl.edu/greenteam/join.html. To establish a new Green Team, contact Anna Prizzia-Taylor, aprizzia@ufl.edu, in the Office of Sustainability.
