GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Andrea Duke of Saluda, N.C., has been crowned Miss North Carolina and will represent her state in the Miss USA Pageant on April 11 in Las Vegas.

Duke graduated in December 2007 from the University of Florida with a Masters of Science degree in management.

“The MSM program has been a fantastic experience and has proven to be a wonderful avenue for me to gain business knowledge and experience” said Duke in a released statement. “ I must express what a fabulous school UF is as a whole. I could not be more excited and proud to be a part of The Gator Nation and to be a fellow Gator.”

Duke now uses her Miss North Carolina title to help promote the dangers of eating disorders among women and to help raise awareness for breast cancer. She has actively supported both causes for several years, the release stated.
