Smathers Libraries to host NaNoWriMo Final Push event

November 20, 2007

The George A. Smathers Libraries will host “The Final Push” for the Gainesville regional group participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) at 5 p.m. -1 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 . The Push will be held in the Library West Information Commons Presentation Area on the third floor.

NaNoWriMo is a “fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing on Nov. 1, with the goal of writing a 175-page or 50,000-word novel by midnight, Nov.30. The Final Push event gives the NaNoWriMo participants an opportunity to get together for a “final-push” write-in on the night before the deadline.

Local authors R. Michael Burns and Sandra Lambert will offer writing advice and encouragement to the writers. Burns will speak at 6:30 p.m. and Lambert at 8:30 p.m.
