African writer and Ambassador to speak on Oct. 5

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Henri Lopes, Ambassador of the Republic of Congo to France and renowned writer, will speak at 3:30 p.m. on Friday Oct. 5 in Room 219 Dauer Hall. He received the Grand Prix de la literature d’Afrique Noire and the Grand Prix de la francophonie de l’Academie francaise and is a member of the Counseil Superieur de la Langue Francaise. The books of Lopes have been translated from French into many languages, including English, Spanish and Portuguese.
