UF students to demonstrate robotic inventions on Thursday

WHO: University of Florida engineering students enrolled in the Intelligent Machine Design Laboratory course, Machine Intelligence Laboratory or Research Experience for Undergraduate program, sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

WHAT: Students will demonstrate about 25 robots, including a swarm of small robots that can play games, a robot that waters plants, a robot that collects coins, a robot that can function even when flipped upside down and a robot that acts out children’s plays. BACKGROUND: Machine Intelligence Lab students have been building autonomous mobile robots since 1993, including the autonomous submarine robot, SubjuGator (http://subjugator.org/), which has won several international competitions, and the NaviGATOR land vehicle, built in conjunction with students from the Center for Intelligent Machines and Robotics.
