GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Gator Nation is indeed everywhere, and fans are shelling out big money to show off their University of Florida allegiance.

The Collegiate Licensing Company of Atlanta ranked UF third among top-selling institutions for licensing royalties. The rankings represent royalties reported for the 2006-07 fiscal year, ending June 30. The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Notre Dame are the No. 1 and 2 schools, respectively.

UF received $5,984,768 in royalty income during that time period.

UF was the biggest mover among top 10 institutions, beginning the year in the No. 6 slot and jumping three positions. Back-to-back NCAA championships in basketball and a national title in football gave Gator fans plenty of reasons to stock up on orange and blue merchandise.

The Collegiate Licensing Company is the oldest and largest collegiate agency in the U.S., representing nearly 200 colleges, universities, bowl games, athletic conferences, The Heisman Trophy and the NCAA.
