Gator Clubs to receive special seating at Growl

August 16, 2007

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — For the first time in Gator Growl history, alumni will have the ability to enjoy the show with their respective Gator Clubs in unique seating blocks closer to the stage.

The Gator Growl staff has taken the steps to make block seating available through its Web site, www.gatorgrowl.org, for this year’s Growl on Nov. 2. Members can take advantage of this feature under the ticket information section of the site.

Jenny Weigle, president of the Tampa Gator Club, said she receives countless questions concerning Gator Growl and that it is a mainstay of her club’s schedule.

“Our members will love extending the networking and collegiality of the club to this year’s Gator Growl,” Weigle said. “It’s obviously the highlight of the Homecoming activities, and we wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Aron Weingard, producer of this year’s Gator Growl, said that the Gator Clubs will have the best seats in the house.

“We wanted to welcome our Gator alumni back to the Swamp with an unforgettable show and great seats,” Weingard said. “The Gator Clubs around the nation have been a steady ingredient to Growl’s success, so we are happy to take the initiative to enhance their experience.”

With the improved seating, Gator Clubs will be able to better witness one novelty of headliner Frank Caliendo’s act: imitating the minute facial expressions of his subjects to exact detail. The talented comedian is known for his ability to impersonate a wide variety of actors, politicians and other celebrities, namely George W. Bush, John Madden and Jerry Seinfeld. Caliendo is a former star of MADtv and will have his own show airing on TBS in the fall titled “FrankTV.”
