Celtic Woman group to perform at O'Connell Center

GAINESVILLE, Fla. –– University of Florida Performing Arts is pleased to announce the addition of the Irish singing sensation Celtic Woman to its 2007-08 Season.

The group, known internationally for its stunning vocals and stage presence, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the O’Connell Center. Tickets for the event will go on sale Aug. 23.

Celtic Woman features the vocal talents of four Irish women and one talented fiddle player. They have appeared around the world and been featured extensively on the Public Broadcasting Service. Between its self-titled debut album and Christmas album, the group held the No. 1 position on the Billboard World Music chart for more than 95 consecutive weeks. They have appeared on “The Today Show” and “Live with Regis & Kelly.”
