TV program to focus on UF crisis response plan

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida’s crisis response plan will be the topic of discussion on North Florida Journal, set to air at 8 p.m. Thursday and again at 11:30 a.m. Sunday on WUFT-TV/DT.

The program aims to answer questions and address concerns that community residents and UF students and faculty have in the wake of the Virginia Tech shootings. The program will examine UF’s preparedness and also look at potential strategies for preventing such events.

Guests are expected to include Patricia Telles-Irvin, UF’s vice president of student affairs; Paige Crandall, associate dean of students; Jacquelyn Resnick, director of the UF Counseling Center; and Lt. Stacy Ettel of the UF Police Department.
