UF's Human Resource Services to move to new location

April 12, 2007

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida will bring a bit of Gator Nation into the Gainesville community when its human resource offices move to a new location later this month.

On April 23, UF’s Human Resource Services will relocate its current offices in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Reitz Student Union and Tigert Hall to a newly renovated building at 903 W. University Ave.

Some of the benefits of the relocation will include consolidated services, a new HRS Service Center, expanded training rooms and a prominent location bridging UF with the Gainesville community. The office is also expanding its hours and will be open for business from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

“We’re looking forward to better serving UF’s faculty and staff as well as having a positive impact on the community,” said Kyle Cavanaugh, UF’s senior vice president for administration. “By relocating to the corridor that connects campus to downtown Gainesville, not only are we opening up new possibilities for recruitment, but we also are bringing nearly 100 employees into an area with a range of local businesses.”

UF is encouraging employees and local residents to “call, click, or visit” to learn more about the new HRS Service Center. Job-seekers and current employees may call the center at 352-392-2HRS for more information. The HRS Web site, www.hr.ufl.edu, will continue to serve as UF’s main resource for up-to-date information about benefits, job opportunities, training and other HR services.

Metered as well as UF parking for employees with orange or blue decals will be available, and the RTS bus route 5 will now stop at the new HRS building. Visitors to HRS will enter the main doors, off University Avenue, and will be greeted by the new HRS Service Center.
