Education Recruitment Day makes its way to UF

April 13, 2007

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Education Recruitment Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 23 in the Grand Ballroom of the Reitz Student Union. All University of Florida students and alumni are encouraged to explore a variety of education-related career options and talk to representatives of the more than 50 school districts and educational organizations that will be in attendance.

“We want students in all majors to come,” said Ja’Net Glover, Career Resource Center assistant director for career events. “Anyone interested in any area of education should attend this fair.”

Organizations will be looking for instructors, administrators and counselors, among other education-related jobs. Students must bring their Gator1 identification cards and are encouraged to also bring their resumes and education portfolios.

“Representatives from some school districts will be conducting interviews on the spot,” Glover said. “This means that there’s an opportunity that some students might leave with job offers.”

A series of workshops to prepare students for the upcoming event will be held in the CRC Room CR160:

  • April 17, 4:05 p.m.: Education Resumes
  • April 18, 4:05 p.m.: Interviews
  • April 19, 4:05 p.m.: Education Recruitment Day Preparation
