Candlelight vigil for victims of Virginia Tech gunman moved to colonnade

UPDATED LOCATION DUE TO WEATHER

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A candlelight vigil program will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the University of Florida Reitz Student Union COLONNADE to honor the memory of the 32 people killed by a gunman at Virginia Tech Monday morning.

Patricia Telles-Irvin, vice president for student affairs, plans to speak. The program will include a nondenominational prayer. John Boyles, Student Government president, will open and close the program.

Those in attendance will be offered an opportunity to sign sympathy cards that will be sent to members of the Virginia Tech community.

UF Student Government and administrators invite students, faculty and staff to attend this program. The amphitheater is next to Green Pond on the east side of the student union.
