UF to recognize outstanding faculty achievements

March 28, 2007

Who: Fifty-two faculty members to be recognized for outstanding achievements. UF Provost Janie Fouke, Associate Provost Debra Walker King and department deans will be on hand to honor the faculty members.

What: The Faculty Recognition and Reception will be a celebration of outstanding faculty achievements during the past two years. Though faculty achievements are often noted in departmental publications or at tenure evaluations, they are not normally recognized at a formal ceremony. The Faculty Achievement Recognition program is designed to collectively celebrate these achievements, and it will be the first event of its kind at UF.

A student art contest was arranged to link faculty successes with their impact on students. Each faculty honoree will be given a framed copy of the winning artwork. A commemorative booklet of honoree names, pictures and brief descriptions will also be given out at the event.

When: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 4.

Where: Harn Museum of Art, S.W. 34th Street and Hull Road.
