February 21, 2007

GAINESVILLE, FL –– Keb’ Mo’ The Suitcase Tour presented by High Sierra makes a stop at the Phillips Center at 7:30 p.m. March 7.

Born Kevin Moore, Keb’ Mo’ adopted the name by which he is better known when he was a young musician, inspired by such prestigious bluesmen as Muddy Waters and Taj Mahal. A living link to the Delta blues tradition, Mo’ was born in Los Angeles to parents raised in the Deep South. His distinctive sound embraces multiple eras and genres, including pop, rock folk and jazz.

Mo’s albums include his 1994 self-titled debut, “Just Like You¸” “Slow Down,” “The Door,” “Big Wide Grin” and “Keep it Simple.” His most recent album, “Suitcase,” a diverse selection of songs that Mo’ feels are his most personal to date, was produced by Mo’ and longtime collaborator John Porter.

“The creative process involved with the making of this record has been a deeply rewarding experience,” he says. “Everything from the songwriting sessions to reconnecting with John Porter has been a wonderful journey. The music on this record represents life happening in all of its shades and shapes. I hope that spirit is conveyed to the listener.”
