UF School of Music presents annual Sounds of the Season

November 27, 2006

The holiday season is a time for carols, cookies, candlelight and the annual University of Florida School of Music’s Sounds of the Season concert. This year’s event, which features performances by the University Choir, Women’s Chorale and Men’s Glee Club, gets under way at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, at the University Auditorium. After the concert, guests are invited to light a candle and join a procession to the Reitz Student Union, where there will be singing of carols, a tree lighting ceremony and refreshments.
The concert is a free ticketed event. General admission tickets will be available at the University Auditorium Box Office beginning at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Parking is available at Criser Hall, the parking garage at Newell Drive and both lots adjacent to the Reitz Student Union.

Mortar Board honor societies will be accepting donations of children’s books to be distributed throughout the holidays for Reading is Leading projects. New and used books in good condition may be dropped off at the University Auditorium before the Sounds of the Season performance.
