“Proof” is a play about Catherine, a troubled young woman who has spent years caring for her brilliant yet unstable father, a famous mathematician. Following his death, on the week of her 25th birthday, a romance and the revealing of an inexplicable notebook draw Catherine into a difficult quandary: How much of her father’s genius, or madness, has she inherited?

“Beyond its mathematical themes, ‘Proof’ is about discovering the hidden beauty that inherently resides in us all,” said Danny Sharron, the director of the production and a junior at the University of Florida.
