UF president to give sustainability report card at conference

Who: University of Florida President Bernie Machen

What: Machen will give a report card on UF’s sustainability efforts in the opening speech for the Campus and Community Sustainability Conference Wednesday and Thursday on the UF campus.

When: 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Where: Reitz Student Union Auditorium.

Background: Machen declared a plan of action to make the University of Florida more sustainable last October at National Campus Sustainability Day. In his speech this year, he plans to give a report card on the university’s progress, outline goals for next year and discuss how everyone at UF can contribute to the university reaching its sustainability goals. The Campus and Community Sustainability Conference is a statewide conference intended to give colleges, universities and communities the chance to share ideas and contribute to each other’s efforts in sustainability.
