Nominations for Davis Productivity Awards due Sept. 29

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Nominations are due 5 p.m. Friday for the Davis Productivity Awards, an annual program honoring state government employees throughout Florida who have significantly increased productivity in delivering state services and products.

The program presents cash awards ranging from $300 to $2,500 as well as commemorative plaques, certificates of commendation and letters of honorable mention. A committee of Florida TaxWatch staff and a panel of judges make award decisions.

UF employees may nominate an individual or work unit in one or more of the following categories:

  • Individual – An achievement by one UF employee
  • Team, work unit or partnership – An achievement by two or more UF employees
  • Exemplary achievement of a state agency – An achievement by a state agency or one of its divisions, districts, institutions, or comparable organization
  • Adapting and implementing – Adaptation and implementation of a previous Davis Productivity Awards achievement by an individual, team, work unit, division, district, institution, or agency, or an award winner who helped others to adapt and implement the previous winner’s achievement
  • Sustained exemplary performance – Recognition of an individual, team, work unit, division, district, or institution for winning multiple Davis Productivity Awards over a period of five or more years, and/or recognition of individuals with 20 or more years of state service who have a history of exceptional performance
  • Chair Award – Recognition of individuals who have submitted nominations to the Davis Productivity Awards program over 10 or more years
