Hass appointed assistant general counsel

Amy M. Hass has been appointed assistant general counsel in the University of Florida’s Office of the Vice President and General Counsel.

Hass comes to the university from the law firm of Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP in New York, where she represented companies and individuals in a wide range of regulatory and enforcement proceedings, civil proceedings, internal corporate investigations and advising on general corporate ethics, procedure and compliance. She will provide legal services on a variety of legal matters including contract and regulatory issues.

Hass is a University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law graduate where she served as a teaching assistant and orientation adviser. She received her bachelor’s of science in exercise physiology fromFurman University.

Barbara Wingo, interim vice president and general counsel, said, “Hass will be a tremendous asset for the university. This is the caliber of attorney we seek to attract. We are delighted with her decision to join our office.”

Hass will be housed at the Office of the Vice President and General Counsel in Tigert Hall.
