HHP students host basketball tournament to benefit March of Dimes

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Health and Human Performance College Council, UF Gator Sport Management Club and the Pink Flamingos Volunteer Group will host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament to benefit March of Dimes. “Hoops for Life” will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 15 in the Florida Gym.

The event will feature a grand prize for the first-place team, a 3-point contest, live music and door prizes. “Hoops for Life” is expected to draw more than 100 participants for the tournament. The event will include a men’s bracket and a women’s bracket for the tournament.

The goal of the event is to raise money for premature babies. All proceeds from “Hoops for Life” will be donated to March of Dimes, which is a nonprofit organization that focuses its efforts on the health of babies.

The tournament is open to UF students, faculty and staff. Registration forms are available in the Florida Gym Room 102 and must be returned by 3 p.m. April 7 in Florida Gym Room 102. For more information, contact Veronica Cooper at vcooper@ufl.edu.
