Classical Association to meet in Gainesville

The 102nd annual meeting of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) will be held April 6-8 in Gainesville at the invitation of the classics faculty at the University of Florida.

All convention sessions will be held in the Holiday Inn West/Ramada Limited except for those on Friday afternoon, which will be held in the Reitz Student Union.

The meeting will include more than 300 scholarly papers on ancient Greek and Roman art and archaeology, civilization, history, literature and Latin pedagogy. The meeting is sponsored in part by an Alachua County Tourist Development grant with additional funding from UF’s Center for Greek Studies, the Rothman Fund, UF’s Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies and UF’s chapter of the national Classics Honors Society, Eta Sigma Phi.
