Sessions to help students prepare for financial aid help

February 13, 2006

The UF Office for Student Financial Affairs has declared Feb. 13-17 as Financial Aid Awareness Week and plans several events to help students.

January through March is the main application period for applying for student aid, and at UF the “on- time” application deadline is March 15.

Students should apply by mid-February to help ensure that the results of their Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) reach UF from the federal application processor by the deadline. Students whose application information is not received from the processor until after March 15 may miss out on many desirable aid programs. Late applicants are considered for aid that remains available when they apply.

In conjunction with Financial Aid Awareness Week, SFA will hold Financial Aid Application Help Sessions throughout February. A financial aid adviser will be available at the Reitz Student Union from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the following locations and times to answer questions and provide students with individual help completing the FAFSA: Feb. 7, Room 282; Feb. 8, Room 286; Feb. 12, Room 282; Feb. 15, Room 287; Feb. 21, Room 363; Feb. 22, Room 361; Feb. 23, Room 363; Feb. 28 and March 1, Room 282.
